I’m really sorry if I am annoying or depressing anyone who is following me by posting a lot about the current political and economic issues. It seems perfectly acceptable to me if someone sees Tumblr as a distraction or source of entertainment, if that person is participating in serious discussions in another area of their life.
So I’d like to thank the 647 people who are currently following me on Tumblr. I’m honestly amazed that so many people would want to funnel my thoughts into their daily lives. We’ll get through this mess together!
The issue wasn’t that it was political in nature - I’m a big fan of politics. I think that as a responsible citizen with the right to vote, one should have a half way decent idea of just what the fuck is going on in their capitol. The issue was that your comment about hating rich people wasn’t backed up with any reasoning what-so-ever. Perhaps if you explained why you hated rich people (which came across as ALL rich people), I’d understand. At face value (because I had nothing else to go by due to your lack of explanation) it just seemed like another über-liberal, approaching socialist, position.
Giving some context to your beliefs helps those who don’t share your beliefs understand your position and thus, not shake it off as a stereotypical liberal thought. I’m actually fairly socially liberal (yet a fiscal conservative) and I appreciate other points of view - when they’re explained as to why that point of view is held.
Maybe that clears things up.
