Not suprising.  On our 3 phones, we sent/received somewhere in the neighborhood of 4000+ text messages last month.

Agreed.  I recently came to the conclusion that Americans “read” more in the form of text messages than from books.  Just plain sad.

I’d say in general, you’re likely right.  Though I’m wondering if you should count news/politics/magazines as “reading.”  I certainly get most of my knowledge from online sources, though I’ve been known to go on a good politics/government book reading binge frequently.
