We’re raising pansies

So, here we are, 8 December and they’ve cancelled school for tomorrow due to snow.

Not a single flake has fallen yet.

We’re predicted for 4 to 7 inches, but they were also predicting 4 inches for this past weekend and it fizzled into maybe an inch and a half - hardly anything to worry about.

I think it speaks to a general trend that we seem to be following. No longer is there a bus stop to walk to - the bus will stop at every house on the street. No longer are we waiting a bit to see how bad the snow is going to be to cancel school. How are our kids going to grow up and compete with the likes of China, a country that will tell some kid that she’s not cute enough to sing on TV and put a lip-singing doppelganger in her place? Obviously, I’m referring to the Olympics. They don’t give a fuck. That kid who was told “too bad” is going to grow up and kick the shit out of our kids on the international stage. That kid learned nice and quick (and by her own government) that life isn’t fair.

Our kids will instead be playing a game and not having any losers.

We’re fucked. Rome is burning, this empire is over.
