I’m in charge of Edelfamily Christmas dinner this year, so am delighted to have this handy guide (Thanksgiving menus are v similar to Christmas ones, you know). My twerpy little sister and her twerpy little friend like to make fun of M. and I because we “prep” days before parties. But advance planning is the key to health and happiness, as
compulsivefrequent hosts know.In today’s Times, Mark Bittman offers you 101 make-ahead Thanksgiving dishes. Enjoy your family … and get out of the kitchen!
I did a lot of prep stuff the night before last year for the first time and let me tell you, much better and I’ll certainly be doing it until the day I die. I like to cook, but I hate the stress of the very end; trying to get everyone wrangled in to sit and all the food to come out done at the same time so it’s all nice and warm.
One of my larger peeves is cold dinner. Because re-heating it in the nuke never is quite the same.
